Terms of Service
The short version. DIYconvert is a set of file tools that run in your browser. Your files stay on your device. The free tools stay free. Paid plans (Starter and Pro) unlock extra tools and are sold through our reseller, Paddle.
1. Who you are dealing with
DIYconvert (“the Service”, at diyconvert.com) is operated by Fobros Technologies Private Limited (“Fobros”, “we”, “us”), 2nd Floor, Zara Mall, Paragon City, Lahore 54000, Pakistan (also at S-8 AB Heights, Airport Road, Lahore). When you use the Service or buy a plan, your agreement is with Fobros Technologies Private Limited. You can reach us at sumar.bashir@fobrostech.com.
2. Accepting these terms
By using the Service you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
3. The Service
The converters and editors run inside your web browser on your own device. Free tools are available without an account. Some tools (currently Sign PDF, Protect PDF, Unlock PDF and Remove background) need a paid plan. We may add, change or retire tools and features from time to time.
4. Your files and content
- Your files are processed on your device and are not sent to us. You keep all rights in them.
- You are responsible for the files you convert or edit. You must own them or have the right to use and change them (including the right to remove a password from a PDF you are unlocking, and to use any image, audio or video you edit).
- If you believe someone is using the Service to infringe your rights, write to sumar.bashir@fobrostech.com with a description of the work and where it appears. Because files stay on users’ devices we cannot see or remove them, but we will act on any valid request that concerns the Service itself, and we may suspend accounts of people who repeatedly infringe other people’s rights.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- break the law or help anyone else to do so;
- commit fraud, send spam, or deceive people (for example by forging signatures or documents);
- infringe copyright, trade marks or other intellectual-property rights;
- interfere with the Service’s security or operation, including introducing malware, probing or testing for weaknesses, overloading it, or scraping it in an automated way.
6. Plans, payment, renewal and cancellation
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
- Plans. Starter and Pro are subscriptions, billed monthly or yearly as you choose at checkout. The price you see before you pay is the price you are charged.
- Price by country. Prices depend on your billing country. Taxes (such as VAT or sales tax) are added at checkout where they apply.
- Renewal. A plan renews automatically for the same period at the then-current price until you cancel. We will tell you before a price change takes effect.
- Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from the link in your Paddle receipt email or through Paddle’s support site, paddle.net. You keep your plan until the end of the period you have paid for, and it will not renew.
- Payment. Payments are collected by Paddle. Paddle’s checkout buyer terms apply to your purchase.
- Refunds. See our Refund Policy.
- Team seats. A Pro plan is meant for up to three people. You must not share a plan with more people than your plan includes.
7. Our intellectual property
The Service, its design, text, code and brand are owned by Fobros Technologies Private Limited or its licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service under these terms. Open-source software used in the Service stays under its own licences.
8. What the tools are, and are not
- Sign PDF places a visual signature on a PDF. It is not a certified or qualified electronic signature, and it may not meet legal requirements for some documents. Check with the person or body you are signing for.
- Conversions can differ from the original in layout, fonts or quality. Check important results before you rely on them, and keep your original files.
- Protect PDF adds a password; if you forget it we cannot recover it for you.
9. No guarantee of uninterrupted service
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work to keep it running well, but we do not promise it will always be available, uninterrupted or free from errors, or that it will work in every browser or on every device. Some tools depend on features of your browser.
10. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your rights as a consumer. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost data, and our total liability to you for anything connected with the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
11. Suspension and ending
We may suspend or end your access, and cancel your plan, if you materially breach these terms, if a payment fails or is reversed, if we reasonably believe your use poses a security or fraud risk, or if you seriously or repeatedly break the acceptable-use rules. You can stop using the Service at any time.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date above and, for changes that matter, tell paying customers by email before they apply. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept it.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan. This does not remove any mandatory consumer rights you have under the law of the country where you live.
